Summer sun suits strawberries

After troublesome wet weather last summer, some Addison County growers were happy with how this season went.

How passionate are berry-lovers about getting back to eating their summer fruits in the company of a fun community event? Very passionate, if Monday’s 48th annual strawberry festival in Vergennes is any indication.

It’s time for the Russell Memorial Library’s Strawberry Festival and book sale.

The Shoreham Strawberry Festival is back. Hosted by the Shoreham Congregational Church, the festival will take place on Wednesday, June 22, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the gazebo on the town green.
