Slate Valley voters OK school budget in a revote

Voters in the Orwell-area school district endorse 2022-23 school spending plans

Residents of Orwell and the five Rutland County towns in the Slate Valley Unified Union School District next Wednesday will get a second chance to vote on a budget for the Fair Haven-area schools.

We admit that Town Meeting Day’s budget vote results (Slate Valley school budget defeated) hit us harder than others.

The overriding mission of the school board since the onset of the pandemic has been to keep our kids safe and to keep them in school.
