Middlebury celebrates Pride

On June 25, 2023, the 40th anniversary of the state of Vermont’s first Pride march, Middlebury hosted its second annual Pride festival on the Middlebury Town Green.

On Tuesday, June 20, students at Vergennes Union High School along with a big swath of the broader community hosted Vergennes’s first ever Pride Parade and celebration as a direct response to a talk by an anti-trans activist at VUHS.

For the second year in a row, MiddPride, a project of the Teen Center, this month is hosting events geared toward queer and trans youth.

As many folks have heard, the Pride Flag that has flown in various versions for several years outside the Champlain Valley Unitarian Universalist Sanctuary at the corner of Duane Ct. and Charles St. was ripped down in an act of vandalism Sunday afternoon.
