Letter to the editor: Thankful for the community spirit that runs strong in Cornwall

The Cornwall Trunk or Treat had a great sophomore year this year. The weather mostly cooperated, it felt like a smoother parking to event transition, and it felt bigger this year

On Sunday, Sept. 24, the Snake Mountain Car show, the biggest show in Addison County, was held at the Addison County Fair and Field Days for the second time, with 233 cars on the field.

On behalf of Mary Hogan’s grade five students and staff, we would like to thank two organizations that helped make our end of the year special — the Town of Middlebury Recreation Department and MESA.

On May 5, the Middlebury Methodist Church generously hosted an Annie Patterson and Peter Blood concert for the enjoyment of those who came to sing along as well as being a fundraiser for HOPE.

On behalf of everyone at HOPE — staff, constituents, board — a hearty thank you to the fabulous women who once again ran our holiday shop.

At the beginning of December, there were very few toys coming into the Red Barrels around the community for the Lions annual Toys for Kids giveaway.

The weather was great, the trunks all looked great, and everyone enjoyed the town highway and fire trucks.

This year, MFF served 120 young athletes of the greater Middlebury Community. The program could not run without the time, energy, commitment and dedication of its volunteers.

On Aug. 22 while hiking with my nine-year-old granddaughter and six-and-a-half-year-old grandson, I fell and broke my hip.
