Tiger football rushes past St. J in D-I final

It was ground and pound for the Middlebury Union High School football team in Saturday’s Division I final — and they brought home the crown.

The numbers presented to the ACSD board on Monday were a very tentative, birds-eye view of Middlebury Union High School’s repair, maintenance and upgrade needs.

MUHS football on Friday scored twice in the first half then stopped the Bulldogs three times deep inside Tiger territory on the way to a 27-7 home victory in a Division I semifinal.

No. 1 seed MUHS girls’ volleyball easily got past a skunky, but overmatched, No. 9 seed Vermont Commons School squad in a Division II quarterfinal, three sets to none.

The Middlebury Union High School football team bounced back from an early Burr & Burton touchdown to dispatch the visiting Bulldogs in convincing fashion this past Friday night, 38-21.

In a highly anticipated battle of the unbeatens, Hartford used a punishing defense and solid rushing attack to knock off Middlebury on Friday night, 28-13.

In the Division II qualifying tournament on Tuesday, the Middlebury and Mount Abraham high school boys’ golf teams fell short of advancing to the D-II championship tournament.

The Middlebury Union High School volleyball team kept up its winning ways with a pair of three-set victories, while the first-year Mount Abraham program came up short in its only outing.

The Middlebury Union High School football team held CVU to 30 yards of total offense in Friday’s blow-out win.

The Middlebury Union High School football remains unbeaten this season. In a key Friday night battle, they bested visiting Rutland, 31-21.

The Middlebury Union High School girls’ cross country team finished first among six scoring girls’ squads at this past Saturday’s Harwood Invitational.

The MUHS football team defeated Brattleboro, 28-14, on Friday.
