Local baseball begins playoffs

All three local baseball teams had playoffs on their minds on Wednesday.

Both local teams nabbed top three playoff seeds.

The high-scoring MUHS girls’ lacrosse team is 9-1 as they close the regular season with two more games at the end of this week.

The two wins come as MUHS prepares for post-season matches next week.

The Mount Abe nine has dealt Middlebury Union High School two of their three losses this season.

Middlebury Union High School girls’ tennis is 5-3, and the boys are 4-2.

The Tigers and Commodores both found themselves in nailbiters in the past week.

The MUHS boys’ tennis team is 3-1, with a match today, May 14 and another on May 19.

MUHS baseball is 5-1 with games on tap for the coming week.

The MUHS girls’ tennis team has tallied four wins over five matches. The only one the Division-II Tigers have dropped was to a D-I team.

The teams are just two to start their spring seasons with wins.

MUHS defeated Spaulding, 24-16, and VUHS lost to Richford, 23-11.
