Middlebury Police Log: Disturbed man keeps police busy

Middlebury police spent a lot of time on Christmas Day with David K. Ricklefs. They cited the 53-year-old Middlebury resident for several offenses — including what police described as “hate-motivated crimes” — following a report of a man allegedly harassing a family at a Maple Street home area on Dec. 25.

Middlebury police arrested a local man four times last week for various offenses, including assault.

Middlebury police cited Halee Ross, 23, of Bristol for driving under the influence, following their investigation of a crash at the intersection of Foot Street and Quarry Road on Dec. 16.

Middlebury police on Dec. 7 cited Cyrus Smith, 38, of Middlebury for two counts of felony first degree aggravated domestic assault, a felony count of first degree unlawful restraint, and interference with access to emergency services (misdemeanor).

Middlebury police cited Amy Mollison, 32, of Rutland for two counts of violating the conditions of her release and possession of cocaine, following their investigation of a suspicious vehicle on Court Street Extension on Nov. 28.

Middlebury police responded to the report of a man exposing himself in the drive-through of Walgreens Pharmacy off Court Street during the afternoon of Nov. 20. Police said the man was gone upon their arrival.

Middlebury police were kept busy last week with a wide range of service calls, including several patrols of the Bakery Lane area to check on houseless folks camping under the Cross Street Bridge, and numerous requests to attend to persons experiencing men … (read more)

Middlebury police cited Michael Winters, 44, of Middlebury for driving under the influence, following a stop on Court Street on Nov. 10. Police said Winters declined to provide an evidentiary breath sample and was taken to a detox facility in Rutland.

Middlebury police arrested a 70-year-old man twice in two days following reported disturbances in the downtown.

Middlebury police cited Krissee Ward-Arnold, 23, of Rutland for driving under the influence (second offense), following a traffic stop on Mary Hogan Drive on Oct. 28. Police said Ward-Arnold declined to provide an evidentiary breath sample.

Middlebury police cited Zachary Robbins, 26, of Middlebury for domestic assault and unlawful mischief, following investigation of an alleged domestic dispute in the South Village Green neighborhood on Oct. 21.

Middlebury police cited Morgan Sansone, 40, of Middlebury for driving under the influence (second offense), resisting arrest and cruelty to a child, following a stop near the intersection of Foote Street and Seminary Street Extension.

Middlebury police on Oct. 6 investigated a report of “a violent argument” between two people off Bakery Lane, under the Cross Street Bridge. Police reported the people in question were treated for injuries and provided with psychiatric support.

Middlebury police issued citations for unlawful activity to two women in downtown Middlebury this past weekend.

Middlebury police last week spent a lot of time responding to complaints about a small community of houseless people who’ve been camping off Bakery Lane, under the Cross Street Bridge.
