Lincoln library readies for Valentine’s Day

History and sweet treats come together on Friday, Feb. 13, as the Lincoln Library hosts a special book launch and Valentine’s Day celebration.

Beginning Saturday, Jan. 17, the Lincoln Library invites you to view a sample of Dale Cockrell’s vintage camera collection.

“Herbal Medicine in the Revolutionary Era” shows how 18th century settlers used herbs and plants to treat various ailments.

The 5 Town Friends of the Arts second annual Winter into Spring Musical Library Tour will continue on Thursday, Feb. 20 with a concert by Tim McKenzie at the Lincoln Library. All shows start at 7:30 p.m., and are free and open to all.

The next concert in the Five Town Friends of the Arts “Winter Into Spring Musical Library Tour” will be Sam Kuhns, who will perform on Thursday, April 18, at the Lincoln Library.

Dale Cockrell is a common sight along stretches of Downingsville Road, where he walks with his dog Gillie leashed in his hand and a camera and telephoto lens slung over his back.

Louella Bryant’s newest novel “Sheltering Angel” will be released on July 27, when she will be giving an author talk under the Sun Pavilion at the Lincoln Library at 6:30 p.m.

Russian photographer Dmitri Beliakov — a candid critic of his nation’s leader, Vladimir Putin — gave a rapt audience at Lincoln Library a window into his five-year experience covering the war in Ukraine and the horrors that conflict continues to produce.

When it came time to replace its 22-year-old boiler earlier this year, the Lincoln Library had to make a crucial decision: stick with heating with oil, or switch to something more environmentally friendly.

The Lincoln Library was recently selected as one of only four libraries across the U.S. and Canada to receive a 2022 EBSCO Solar Grant.

Stop by Burnham Hall for a take-out only enchilada dinner fundraiser to benefit the Lincoln Library on Tuesday, Jan. 11, from 4:30  to 6:30 p.m. This will be a fun and delicious way to celebrate and support our community.

“The whole idea is: Let’s just have some fun!” said Mary Barnett, who volunteers at the library every week, and launched the mini-gallery project in August.
