Letter to the editor: Cornwall group gives thanks

The Friends of Cornwall School would like to thank everyone who helped make our second annual Town Meeting Breakfast on Saturday, March 2, a success.

The Cornwall Trunk or Treat had a great sophomore year this year. The weather mostly cooperated, it felt like a smoother parking to event transition, and it felt bigger this year

The Friends of Cornwall School would like to thank everyone who helped make our first Town Meeting Breakfast on Saturday, March 4th, a relative success.

I have known Chris for five years now, since my youngest and his oldest started Kindergarten at Cornwall’s Bingham Memorial School.

The weather was great, the trunks all looked great, and everyone enjoyed the town highway and fire trucks.

I recently had the privilege of having a nice long conversation with Wendy Harlin in my back yard. She is running for the Vermont House Addison-2 seat representing my hometown of Cornwall along with Goshen, Leicester, Ripton and Salisbury.

While I was never fully content with how the ACSD school board was conducting their Facilities Master Planning process, among other prior objectives (under Peter Conlon’s leadership), I have been extremely concerned with the sudden and narrow minded way a … (read more)

I want to encourage the ACSD officials, board members, and anyone else involved in the current stage of master planning to think outside the box. A recent article in this paper mentioned the likelihood of four elementary schools eventually being closed. I … (read more)
