Locals brace for food assistance cuts

President Donald Trump last week signed into law a massive tax-and-spending bill that includes funding cuts and other changes to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), a food assistance program that serves more than 40 million people around the country.

Vermonters seek food security for all

For many Vermonters, reliable access to the food they need is not a guarantee. In fact, the nonprofit Hunger Free Vermont reports two in five Vermonters are now experiencing food insecurity.
