Three local gymnasts excel ahead of state meet

With states just days away, local gymnasts continued to deliver high scoring performances.

Two MUHS gymnasts placed during the Tigers’ second to last meet of the season.

Personal successes were on tap for local gymnasts this past week.

In the last two meets, the team broke their season high scores.

Local high school gymnasts earned top slots and a team win during Monday’s meet.

Once again setting its highest team score of the season, the Middlebury Union High School gymnastics team took second place in a three-team meet on Jan. 29, an event the team hosted in the MUMS gymnasium.

MUHS gymnastics Coach Natalia Little found plenty to like about her young team’s performance when they hosted Burr & Burton on Wednesday.

The Middlebury Union High School gymnastics team finished third in a home meet on Dec. 27 against two Division I schools, but Coach Natalia Little said she was pleased with her young team’s early-season progress.

Visiting Harwood prevailed over a shorthanded Middlebury Union High School gymnastics team in a Jan. 18 dual meet, 87.9-58.2.

The MUHS gymnastics team finished third in a home meet on Friday, and Coach Talia Little was pleased with the progress shown by her young team.

The MUHS gymnastics team won five events at Randolph and breezed to a 74.5-10.3 victory over the shorthanded Ghosts.

Visiting Burr & Burton defeated the Middlebury gymnastics team, 110.5-60.95, on Dec. 27, but Tiger gymnasts Alixis Williams, Nataly Johnson and Emily Johnson all posted top-six finishes in at least one event, as did Vergennes independent Bella Audy.

The Middlebury Union High School gymnastics team picked up a pair of big wins in recent action, one on the road and one at the Tigers’ final home meet of the season. 

The Middlebury Union High School gymnastics teams split two recent home matches, falling to powerhouse Essex last week before edging Randolph on Tuesday.
