Faith Gong: Reflections on New Year’s fireworks

The noise — those booms and pops and sizzles — may ward off evil, but it’s also a perfect, primal way to commemorate all the emotions of the past year.

It was so good to see all the folks who turned out for Friday night’s New Year’s Eve fireworks in Middlebury.

Thanks to the generous support from American Legion Post 27, New Year’s Eve fireworks and free ice skating will return again this year.

Hats off to the Town of Middlebury, the American Legion, and the Recreation Department for the wonderful fireworks display at the Recreation Park New Year’s Eve. It was excellent, and well attended. Ron Holmes Middlebury
