ANWSD students schooled in circus arts

You might not think of circus skills such as juggling, plate-spinning and clowning as educational activities. Administrators, family members and students at Vergennes Union Elementary and Ferrisburgh Central schools would beg to differ after Troy Wunderle’s recent weeklong visits to each Addison Northwest School District building.

The 5th- and 6th-graders ended up raising $1,700 and all rain barrels got a bid.

Cows, Cookie Love and Cougars, not to mention Champ, were among the top choices Ferrisburgh Central School students made last week as symbols for a school-wide art project honoring their hometown.

The next Ferrisburgh Central School principal, Rae Donovan, will arrive in July from the Mount Abraham Union School District, where she has served as the district’s Social and Emotional Learning Coordinator since 2019.

Every two years, Ferrisburgh Central School students have the opportunity to work with a visiting artist and create something special together.
