Mount Abe board seeks members

The Mount Abraham Unified School District board will work with its member communities to fill four vacancies on the panel that failed to draw candidates — or enough write-in votes — to be filled on Town Meeting Day.

Parking spaces at and around Lincoln’s Burnham Hall on Monday evening were about as full as the warning for that evening’s annual town meeting, held in person for the first time in three years.

Addison Central School District voters on Tuesday filled five seats on the ACSD’s 13-member governing board, with four of those spots decided in hotly contested elections.

Next Tuesday, March 7, is Town Meeting Day. Many towns have their official meetings on Monday evening March 6, with Australian balloting the next day.

I take very seriously my role on the board and understand the importance of providing clean and safe drinking water to our member towns.

As a father of two young children attending school in our district, Chris is fully invested in the future of our schools, the success of our students, and the strength of our towns.

The ACSD school board ballot will be very full this year. I am proud to support Hilda Stone and Ron Makleff.

I do not come to this role with my mind set on solutions. I am open minded and humble about what I need to learn from prior work and others’ expertise.

I feel that Ellen has the skills and temperament to advocate for Cornwall on the board and to work with representatives of the other towns to reach equitable solutions for the stakeholders in this complicated process.

I am writing to express my support for Suzanne Buck on the ACSD Board. I have known Suzanne for a few years now, and currently serve with her on the ACSD Board.
