Acupuncturist faces court date

A jury trial has tentatively been slated for mid-March in the case of a Middlebury acupuncturist facing a felony lewd & lascivious conduct charge.

Christopher Rantanen, 40, of Brandon, was sentenced to a term of 35 months’ imprisonment. He previously pleaded guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm.

An alert Vermont state trooper from Addison County, who was on special foot patrol in downtown Burlington this past Friday, is credited with the apprehension of a dangerous Bristol driver.
