Local swim teams make big splash

Both Addison County youth swim teams claimed individual titles and the Vergennes Swim Team also captured four relay victories at the Vermont Swim Association Championships this past weekend at the Upper Valley Aquatic Center in White River Junction.

Champs take third at league meet

The Vergennes Champs settled for third place at this past weekend’s Champlain Valley Swim League’s championship meet, while the Middlebury Marlins were sixth in the seven-team field. 

Champs wrap up at 5-1

The Vergennes Champs swim team in the past week posted two big wins over the Burlington Country Club and Town of Essex Swim teams to conclude their regular Champlain Valley Swim League season with a 5-1 record.

Champs swim past Marlins as all enjoy summer meet

Late on Tuesday afternoon the coaches of the Vergennes Champs and Middlebury Marlins conferred as an iffy forecast threatened the annual renewal of their teams’ friendly Champlain Valley Swim League rivalry. 

Champs win one of two

The Vergennes Champs split two recent Champlain Valley Swim League meets and their record stands at 2-1 heading into a home meet this Thursday against the Town of Essex Swim Team.

Vergennes swim team debuts strong

The Vergennes Champs opened their Champlain Valley Swim League season on Thursday, June 29, with a 291-183 victory at Winooski.
