The official Champlain Valley Swim League record will show that on Tuesday, June 15, the visiting Middlebury Marlins edged the host Vergennes Champs, 249-234, on a steamy summer evening.

Vergennes Champs swimmers combined to win 27 individual titles and claim third place as a team in Division I of the Vermont State Swim Association’s championship meet, held on this past Saturday and Sunday in the Upper Valley Aquatic Center in Hartford.

Vergennes Champs swimmers combined to win 20 races and claim third place in Champlain Valley Swim League’s championship meet, hosted on this past Friday and Saturday in the Winooski municipal pool.

Scores are kept for summer swimming, and the record shows that on Tuesday the visiting Vergennes Champs defeated the Middlebury Marlins, 308-185. 

The Vergennes Champs easily splashed past a smaller group of visiting Burlington Country Club swimmers on Thursday, July 18, 354-95, in a Champlain Valley Swim League meet.

Despite the fact that the Vergennes Swim Team had less than half the number of swimmers as host Burlington Tennis Club in a July 3 meet, the Champs made a decent showing in the Burlington pool and fell to the Barracudas by only 288 to 211.

The youth swim team in Vergennes handily defeated the team from Winooski in a Thursday meet.

Both Addison County youth swim teams claimed individual titles and the Vergennes Swim Team also captured four relay victories at the Vermont Swim Association Championships this past weekend at the Upper Valley Aquatic Center in White River Junction.
