Local lawmakers call for Vekos resignation

After she got a DUI charge, was criticized for some of her practices and lost her law license, most local lawmakers say they’ve had enough of State’s Attorney Eva Vekos.

Although she has not been convicted of a crime yet, her actions during the time of arrest and the subsequent email sent yesterday shows that she is anti-law enforcement and that in itself goes against the mission of a prosecutor.

It looks like Addison County State’s Attorney-elect Eva Vekos will begin her job before the traditional starting date of Feb. 1.

Middlebury Democrat Eva Vekos on Tuesday scored a decisive win to become the county’s new state’s attorney, besting Addison County Deputy State’s Attorney Peter Bevere, 8,478-6,147.

Middlebury’s Eva Vekos scored a decisive win over Montpelier resident (Lincoln native) Tim Lueders-Dumont, 2,823-2,388, in Tuesday’s Democratic primary for Addison County state’s attorney.

I write in support of Tim Lueders-Dumont for Addison County State’s Attorney. I have known Tim for years and know him to be hardworking and empathetic.
