MIDDLEBURY COLLEGE ON Monday officially kicked off construction of a new 298-bed, 87,000-square-foot residence hall with a groundbreaking ceremony. The dorm, which will house first-year students beginning in the fall of 2025, is sighted north of the green space called “Battell Beach” between Coffrin Hall and Bicentennial Hall. Officials said the as-yet-unnamed dorm was designed to encourage community- building through shared living and learning spaces.
