YOUNG ENTREPRENEURS SOLD their homemade creations at the first-ever Very Merry Middlebury Mini Makers Market on Saturday. Because of the rain, the vendor tables were set up inside Town Hall Theater, so folks could browse while waiting in line to meet Santa and Mrs. Claus. Here’s Willow Heywood selling her art. MANY ELVES HELPED out at last Saturday’s Ho Ho Ho Holiday Stroll event at the Vergennes Opera House. Many children came to take part in cookie decorating, craft making and more. Plus, as this young girl found out, there was time for children to have one-on-one conversations with Santa Claus. Photo by Elaine Eldridge
JUST MINUTES AFTER the Christmas tree went up this month, Bart, an 11-month-old kitten, was caught climbing its boughs. The Middlebury owner of the cat (and of the tree!) snapped this picture before shooing the feline down with a squirt bottle. Independent photo/Megan James
