- Show of support A stream of about 80 vehicles proceeds northbound on Route 22A through Orwell around 8 a.m. Friday morning in honor of David “Chris” Maland, a U.S. Border Patrol agent who was killed in the line of duty on Monday. The convoy included first response vehicles of many kinds, including fire trucks, as well as civilian vehicles. A rescue helicopter flew above the procession. This show of support came after a motorcade of around 200 vehicles escorted Maland’s body as it was moved from the Chief Medical Examiner’s office in Burlington to a funeral home on Thursday.
