MIDDLEBURY — Middlebury police referred to the Vermont State Police a report on Feb. 15 that a 17-year-old youth had allegedly videotaped an 8-year-old girl undressing in his Addison County home.

In other action last week, Middlebury police:

• Responded to noise complaints in the Court Street and South Pleasant Street neighborhoods on Feb. 9.

• Received a report about an out-of-control student at MUHS on Feb. 9. Police said school officials were able to solve the problem internally.

• Received a call from a local parent claiming his daughter was refusing to come home from school on Feb. 10.

• Were informed that a backpack had been taken from Middlebury College’s Proctor dining hall on Feb. 10. Police said the backpack was later recovered.

• Responded to a reported dispute between a man and woman over the ownership of a vehicle in the North Pleasant Street area on Feb. 10.

• Investigated a report of an out-of-control student at Middlebury Union Middle School on Feb. 11.

• Assisted Porter Hospital officials with a drunken man on Feb. 11. Police said the man was later released into the custody of a sober friend.

• Assisted a motorist who had skidded off of Three Mile Bridge Road on Feb. 12.

• Were informed of the theft of a backpack from Two Brothers Tavern on Main Street on Feb. 12. Police said the backpack allegedly contained some prescription drugs.

• Assisted a local man who on Feb. 12 reported a possible fraudulent tax return being filed in his name.

• Received a report from a man who said he had been clipped by a red car while walking across College Street on Feb. 12.

• Responded to a verbal dispute between two siblings in the South Village Green area on Feb. 13.

• Responded to a report of goats in the middle of Munger Street on Feb. 13.

• Received a report of some juveniles trying to obtain alcohol in the College Street area on Feb. 13.

• Heard from an East Main Street resident who reported someone had shot a window at his home using a BB gun. The homeowner believes the incident occurred sometime within the past two weeks.

• Investigated a report of a vehicle striking a pedestrian on College Street, near the intersection of Hepburn Road, on Feb. 13. Police said the pedestrian was treated for injuries at Porter Hospital. Authorities said the roads were slick from snow at the time of the incident.

• Gave a ride to the occupants of a car that had veered off College Street on Feb. 15.

• Checked the welfare of two Middlebury College students who were seen walking across Otter Creek from Creek Road on Feb. 15.

• Assisted Middlebury College Public Safety with a drunken non-student on campus on Feb. 15.

• Received a report about an uncooperative Middlebury College student off South Main Street on Feb. 15. College public safety officials handled the matter.

• Assisted an elderly woman who had locked herself out of her residence at Otterside Court on Feb. 16.
