MAUSD to host vaccine clinic
BRISTOL — The Mount Abraham Unified School District has been selected by the state of Vermont as a vaccination site for the entire community, school officials announced on Monday.
State and local officials are hoping to achieve an 80% vaccination rate among MAUSD middle and high school students, according to a district memo released on Monday.
MAUSD’s first vaccination clinic is scheduled for 2-8 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 20, at Mount Abraham Union Middle/High School, which is located at 220 Airport Dr. in Bristol.
Vaccines will be offered to anyone who walks in. If desired, reservations can be made by visiting tinyurl.com/mtabeclinic or calling 1-855-722-7878.
In accordance with current Vermont Department of Health and Agency of Education guidance, MAUSD students will be required to wear masks when they head back to school for full-time in-person learning on Wednesday, Aug. 25.
All preK-grade 6 MAUSD students will be required to wear masks indoors at school, except while eating or drinking.
Middle and high school students will be required to wear a mask indoors for at least the first 10 academic days of the year.
And all students, regardless of their vaccination status, will be required to wear masks on buses.
If a school reaches an 80% vaccination rate, masking guidance will be revisited, school officials said.
