Eagle Pearsall to suit up for Shrine Bowl

CASTLETON — Recent Mount Abraham Union High School graduate Kevin Pearsall will be a member of the Vermont all-star football team that squares off against New Hampshire’s best in the annual Shrine Maple Sugar Bowl this Saturday in Castleton.
Pearsall finished up his career as a running back/defensive end for the Eagles football team this past fall.
“I’m excited to play this game with the other great players and coaches,” Pearsall said. “This is an unexpected and wonderful opportunity for me, and an honor to represent my team and school.”
On game day, there will be a traditional Shrine parade down Main Street in the host town starting at 3 p.m. featuring Shrine units from throughout New England and parts of Canada. Pregame introductions start at 5 p.m. with kick-off scheduled for 5:30.
Also featured will be the always-entertaining all-star high school and alumni band made up of more than 80 musicians from both states. Cheerleaders will again be cheering for both teams.
The Maple Sugar Bowl Game is sponsored by the Cairo Shriners of Rutland and Mt. Sinai Shriners of Montpelier. This game is played as a fundraiser for the area’s Shriners Hospitals for Children. General admission tickets for the game are on sale at outlets throughout New Hampshire and Vermont for $12; the price is $15 on Saturday.
Tickets are also available through the Shrine Football Office, P.O. Box 820, Lebanon, NH 03766 or by calling (603) 448–1042. They can also be purchased online at shrinemaplesugarbowl.com.
Internet live streaming coverage of the game will again be broadcast by NSN Sports courtesy of Mascoma Savings Bank online at nsnsports.net. Fan parking will be offered at $10 per car and is easy walking distance to the stadium on the Castleton University campus. Handicap accessible parking is available next to the pavilion for those needing assistance.
