Vermont is victorious in Shrine Bowl

The Vermont team scored two fourth-quarter touchdowns in Saturday’s Shrine Maple Sugar Bowl football game to rally past New Hampshire, 26-21, at Castleton University in the annual battle between recently graduated high school football all-stars from each state.

Five players from the region’s three high school football teams are expected to play this Saturday in the 71st annual Shrine Maple Sugar Bowl, in which top recently-graduated high school football players from Vermont and New Hampshire square off.

The 70th Annual Shrine Maple Sugar Bowl will kick off at 11:30 p.m. this on Saturday at Castleton University.

The 69th Annual Shrine Maple Sugar Bowl football game featuring top recently graduated high school standouts from Vermont and New Hampshire will be played on Saturday, Aug. 6, in David Wolk Stadium at Castleton University. Kickoff time will be at noon.
