Boys’ hockey tops Raiders, 3-1
STOWE — The Middlebury Union High School boys’ hockey team picked up a key road win on Saturday, defeating host Stowe, 3-1, as the Tigers evened their record at 4-4.
Owen Austin scored for the Tigers as the teams finished the first period tied at 1-1. Tucker Stearns gave MUHS the lead in the second, with an assist from Ryan Nadeau, and Hale Hescock sealed the victory with an empty-net goal.
Tiger goalie Jeff Stearns made 25 saves, and Stowe goalie Ethan Brown stopped 26 shots.
The Tigers will host Colchester at 7 p.m. on Friday.
