Millicent “Millie” Coursey, 92, of Middlebury

MIDDLEBURY — Millicent “Millie” Ruth Coursey of Middlebury in Addison County, VT, passed away December 23, 2019, at the age of 92, at the home of her daughter in Nebo, MacDowell County, NC, with loved ones at her side.
She was born on May 6, 1927, in Benson, VT, the daughter of Howard Chandler and Thelma (Goyette) Chandler. She was the oldest of thirteen children.
She was predeceased by her husband Kenneth L. Coursey Sr.; and two sons, Michael A. LaFlam and Kenneth “Corky” L. Coursey II.
She is survived by five daughters: Barbara Gevery of Deland, FL; Teena Tupper of Nebo, NC; Melody Hill of Nebo, NC; Dawn O’Dell of Middlebury, VT; and Lauren Mohan of Benson, VT. She is survived by a brother and five sisters: Wesley, Katy, Nardy, Mary, Joy, and Patty. She is also survived by numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
Millie was a life member of the VFW, Post 7823, where she was an avid leader of the marching unit until age 90. She was a retired maintenance supervisor at Middlebury College.
A Celebration of Life will be held at VFW Post 7823 in Middlebury on Saturday, January 25, at 2:30 p.m. Friends and family are cordially invited at that time. A service and interment will be held at a later date.
