Opinion: Join our talk on college reopening plans

This week’s writer is Brian R. Carpenter, chair of the Middlebury selectboard.
At the Middlebury selectboard meeting on July 28, at 7 p.m., representatives from the administration of Middlebury College, including Health Service Director Dr. Mark Peluso and Special Assistant to the President, Associate Secretary of the Corporation & Director of Community Relations Sue Ritter, will update the community on the college’s plans to re-open the campus to students in the fall and respond to questions and comments about its plans.
Weekly updates on the college’s plans are available on its website on its COVID-19 page, middlebury.edu/office/announcements, and the college’s presentation will be posted on the town’s website, townofmiddlebury.org, on Thursday, July 23.
The selectboard meeting will be a virtual meeting on the Zoom platform.  To attend:

Community members are invited and encouraged to pose questions about and offer comments on the college’s plans to re-open the campus to students either in advance of the meeting by submitting them to the selectboard in care of Town Manager Kathleen Ramsay via e-mail, [email protected], no later than noon the day of the meeting, Tuesday, July 28, or at the meeting, after the presentation.
