Stormwater applications are due by Mar. 12

CHAMPLAIN VALLEY — The Lake Champlain Basin Program (LCBP) seeks proposals for the development of a unified stormwater technical assistance program for private property owners in the Lake Champlain Basin. Up to $125,000 is available to support this project to begin in summer 2021 and conclude by spring 2023.
The stormwater education and outreach program will collect, share, and align existing tools and messages to create a unified and coordinated non-regulatory stormwater property assessment and homeowner education initiative in the New York and Vermont portions of the Lake Champlain Basin.
The successful applicant will develop property assessment tools and best management practice recommendations; create consistent public messaging for public outreach and the assessment process; create a shared certification and award protocol for property owner participation; and implement a monitoring process to facilitate nutrient reduction tracking.

The project will further the goals of the Lake Champlain Basin Program’s long-term management plan Opportunities for Action by reducing the amount of nutrients and other pollutants that are washed off the landscape in residential and urban areas.
Electronic versions of proposals must be received by [email protected] no later than March 12. Successful applicants will be notified in April 2021 for project initiation by July 2021.
Details about the Request for Proposals are available online at lcbp.org/grants or by calling the Lake Champlain Basin Program office at (802) 372-3213.
