MIDDLEBURY — Have you lost a bike or had one stolen during the past several months? The Middlebury Police Department is currently holding a number of recovered bicycles, the owners of which are unknown.
There will be a public viewing of these bikes on Wednesday, March 31, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., at the Middlebury PD off Seymour Street. Anyone who has had a bicycle lost or stolen is encouraged to take advantage of this opportunity.
All unclaimed bicycles will be donated to the Middlebury Bike Swap to benefit Midd Safe Routes.

Meanwhile, Middlebury police cited Jerry Dunbar, 32, of Charlotte for driving under the influence and two other charges, following a stop for a “suspicious motor vehicle investigation” on Route 7 South on March 19.
In addition to DUI, Dunbar was cited for driving with a suspended license and violation of his conditions of release. Police said Dunbar declined to submit to a breath test.
Dunbar was taken to Southern State Correctional Facility for lack of $1,000 bail, according to police.
In other action last week, Middlebury police:
•  Cited Courtyard by Marriott Hotel guests Robert W. Harris, 61, and Monique Lafountaine, 36, for disorderly conduct on March 15 following a loud argument between the two of them that police said “caused multiple people to come out of their rooms.”
•  Searched in vain for a youth who witnesses said “looked lost” while walking down Route 7 South during the afternoon of March 15.
•  Began an ongoing investigation on March 15 into the alleged theft of alcohol from a Court Street Extension business.
•  Helped a Court Street resident experiencing a mental health crisis on March 15.
•  Investigated an alleged animal abuse case on March 15 in the Case Street area and determined it to be unfounded.
•  Assisted Middlebury Regional EMS with a patient at a Pulp Mill Bridge Road home on March 16.
•  Checked the welfare on March 16 of two Mary Hogan Elementary School families after having not heard from either one in more than a week.
•  Cited Patrick Durfee, 42, of Vergennes for a criminal count of driving with a suspended license, following a traffic stop on Case Street on March 16.
•  Were informed of the alleged theft of a poster from in front of the Marquis Theater on March 16.
•  Investigated a family argument at a Seymour Street home on March 17.
•  Assisted Middlebury Regional EMS on a medical call at the Courtyard by Marriott Hotel on Route 7 South on March 17.
•  Investigated a report of two youths attempting to buy tobacco without providing proof of age at the Jolley Short Stop on Court Street Extension on March 17.
•  Received a call from a crisis hotline official in St. Albans on March 18 who reported there was a Middlebury woman engaging in self-harm. Police found the woman and took her to Porter Hospital.
•  Served a temporary restraining order on a local man on March 19.
•  Received a report that a Burlington juvenile had been making online threats toward a local person on March 19.
•  Responded to a report of an upset parent at the Vermont Department for Children & Families headquarters at South Village Green on March 19.
•  On March 19 checked the welfare of a Middlebury Union High School student who had reportedly been missing from classes for almost a month.
•  Responded to a suspected domestic dispute at a Valley View home on March 19.
•  Investigated a trespassing complaint at a North Pleasant Street home on March 20.
•  Responded to a reported family argument at an East Main Street home on March 20.
•  Cited Peter Bautista, 27, of Pittsford for driving under the influence, following a traffic stop on Route 7 South on March 21. Police said they tested Bautista’s blood-alcohol level at 0.033%; the legal limit for driving is 0.08%.
•  Assisted a woman who was having a mental health crisis on Washington Street on March 21.
•  Cited Michael Graziadei, 51, of Middlebury for unlawful trespass on North Pleasant Street on March 21.
