Vermont milk tests free of bird flu
JESSICA WATERMAN OF the Vermont Agency of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Consumer Inspection Division demonstrates the milk sampling procedure from an on-farm bulk milk tank at the UVM Dairy during training. The USDA say that milk sampling has shown that Vermont is “unaffected” by bird flu.

The United States Department of Agriculture late last week declared Vermont’s dairy cattle free of bird flu, according to a press release from the Vermont Agency of Agriculture Food and Markets. The agency’s milk sampling program shows no affected dairy cattle as of this past Friday.
