Local wildlife affected by heavy rains, flooding
THE NORTHERN TWO-LINED salamander lays its eggs in streams on the bottom of rocks, like the one shown here. Flooding and heavy rains such as the July 10-11 storm that inundated parts of the state can destroy those eggs and affect other local wildlife.

When heavy rains inundated parts of the state on July 10 and 11, much of the damage done to homes, businesses and public infrastructure was clear to see.
