Letter to the editor: ‘Vote Forward’ helps empower the underrepresented

I want to encourage people to vote in the upcoming midterm elections. The best way I found was through “VOTE FORWARD,” a way to communicate with individual voters by writing a short, non-partisan letter encouraging their vote. This is a proven way to get people who had not recently voted to the polls. You write as many letters as you wish and mail them all out on Oct. 27, 2022, just before the election.

Vote Forward’s mission is to empower grassroots volunteers to encourage their fellow citizens in underrepresented communities to vote. We don’t tell people how to vote, only urge them to vote. Here’s my message:

“Voting is the voice of the people — all of us together — strengthening and improving our democracy. Every vote counts. Your vote makes a difference.”

I encourage you to visit their website: votefwd.org.
