I am writing this letter to do something I never thought I would be doing… encouraging people to vote no on a school budget. As a school board member on a number of school boards (Mary Hogan, UD#3, and the new ACSD) for over 20 years, this isn’t something I do lightly.
We urge all voters in the Addison Central School District to vote for Jess Venable-Novak and Ron Makleff as new school board members from Middlebury.
I contacted Gov. Phil Scott on Feb. 2 asking him to condemn the illegal and immoral actions of President Trump and the unappointed and unelected Elon Musk. Given his history shepherding Vermont through unprecedented times, I was hopeful that much like his 2020 response to the COVID-19 pandemic, he would again rise to meet the moment.
I am a Cornwall School parent of two, and I support Ron Makleff and Jess Venable-Novak for seats on the Addison Central School District board in the upcoming election on March 4.
At the office of the Vermont Health Care Advocate, we often hear from Vermonters who are forced to make impossible choices between getting medical treatment and paying for basic needs like food, housing and heat.
