Nineteen years ago, Megan James exited Middlebury College with a degree and a lot of enthusiasm that led her to a career in journalism. Young, bright and motivated, the world was her oyster, but the pearl was always in Middlebury. And that’s where she wants to stay, live, work — and make things better for her young family as a member of the town selectboard.

On Friday, the Addison Community Action/Champlain Valley Office of Economic Opportunity food shelf will move from its current location at 54 Creek Road and will reopen on Monday at the ACA/CVOEO Food Hub at 616 Exchange St. No. 1 (the former Vermont Soap store).

Spending up 1.5% in ANWSD

The Addison Northwest School District board on Wednesday, Jan. 22, adopted a $27.653 million budget proposal to provide education for students in the 2025-2026 academic and fiscal year (FY26) at the Vergennes Union High and Middle, Vergennes Union Elementary, and Ferrisburgh Central schools.
