Letter to the editor: Hunting fawns is questioned

I read the Youth Hunting Season results in the Dec. 26 Addy Indy. I took pause and stumbled each time I read the word “fawn” meaning “fawn” had been harvested. In the woods, youth hunters are alongside their dads or moms or another adult. Together they have a chance to witness fawns in nature. In my opinion it’s a teachable moment to be enjoyed, respected and shared. Moreover, passing on the shot is an investment in the herd and is wise hunting practice.
