Area educators get $16,480 in program funding from ACEEF
ADDISON COUNTY — The Addison Central Educational Endowment Fund this fall distributed $16,480 in funds to schools in Addison Central School District.
Educators, administrators and community members were invited to apply for grants to be used for programs that are innovative and considered to be beyond the scope of the schools’ regular operating budgets and which promote excellence and opportunity for students, teachers and community members in the local public schools.
This year awards went to the following recipients:
Bridport Central School:
- Andrea Way for “Artist In Residency.”
- Heather Adams, Jenny Urban and Andrea Way for “Outdoor Play Materials.”
Mary Hogan Preschool Program:
- Deb Martin for “Preschoolers and the Outdoors.”
Mary Hogan School
- Jen Kravitz, Stephanie Bull, Cyndi Palmer, Sonia Kulhowvick for “Jeh Kulu, Artist in Residence.”
- Grade Five Team (Deb Levesque) for “Montshire Museum Visit.”
Middlebury Union Middle School
- Julie Haugan, Talon Petrosino for “The Play’s the Thing: Partnering with Courageous Stage.”
- Dustin Hunt for the “8th Grade Class Trip.”
- Isabel Gogarty for “Period Equity: Providing Essential Products for All Middle School Students.”
Middlebury Union High School
- Arianna Bailey for “Hispanic Culture in NYC — DP 2 Field Trip.”
- Steve Colangeli for “Science We Can See, Touch and Eat: An Indoor Hydroponic Garden.”
- Dan Comar for “Theory of Knowledge, the Art and Indigenous Peoples Day.”
- Ida Mae Danforth for “Trekking Mexico — A production at the Flynn.”
Ripton Elementary School
- Sarah Metcalf and Bjarki Sears for “K-5 Puppetry Residency with Barbara Paulson.”
Salisbury Community School
- Sarah Metcalf and Bjarki Sears for “K-5 Residency with Barbara Paulson.”
- Casey Fitzgerald for “Kindergarten Enrichment.”
- Amy Clapp for “Building a Wigwam in the Forest Classroom.”
Addison Central Educational Endowment Fund’s mission is to establish and maintain an Endowment Fund by raising private funds, the income from which is used to support innovative programs in the Addison Central Supervisory District schools. ACEEF is an agency fund of the Vermont Community Foundation which manages its charitable endowment.
