Regulator seeks your input on hospitals

MIDDLEBURY — The public is invited to a Green Mountain Care Board meeting in Middlebury later this month to give their input on the transformation of Vermont hospitals.

The meeting will be Tuesday, July 30, from 6-7:30 p.m., at Ilsley Library’s Jessica Swift Community Room, 75 Main St.

In 2022, the Vermont Legislature passed Act 167, which called for healthcare delivery reform in Vermont. A central part of this legislation is developing community- and data-informed options to transform Vermont’s healthcare system that improve access, affordability, quality and sustainability.

Based on input from last fall’s community meetings and robust data analysis, the Green Mountain Care Board has determined that it is time for a second round of community meetings held in person across the state to discuss the findings and options for health system transformation. More information about the project and work to date can be found at gmcboard.vermont.gov/Act-167-Community-Meetings#Past.

In-person Healthcare Community Meetings

The Green Mountain Care Board, Vermont’s hospital regulator, hopes you will lend your voice to these important discussions by registering for an upcoming in-person meeting in your region. The current meeting schedule includes a stop in Middlebury.

You are encouraged to register for the meeting to receive a confirmation email with the meeting location information and the option to add it to your calendar. By registering, you will also receive reminders, meeting materials and email notifications if there are any special instructions or changes to the location.

For general questions, to request an accommodation, or for inquiries about accessibility, please email the Green Mountain Care Board: [email protected] or call Marisa Melamed at 802-377-0194.

So far, regulators have received almost 700 unique RSVPs to this series of meeting

For those that miss this in-person meeting on July 30, the Green Mountain Care Board will hold a Statewide Healthcare Community Meeting online on Monday, Aug. 5, concerning the critical financial state of Vermont healthcare systems. The meeting will run from 6 to 7:30 on the Microsoft Teams online platform.

Those who RSVP will be emailed an online link to the Aug. 5 meeting.
