Cornwall Fire Dept. open house on Sunday, Oct. 22

CORNWALL — The Cornwall Volunteer Fire Department invites residents to its fall open house this Sunday, Oct. 22, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The event will feature activities for young and old, treats and a visit by the LifeNet helicopter ambulance.

The CVFD’s equipment will be on display, including the department’s new pumper truck that can be operated with a hand-held tablet. Activities include fire and rescue simulations, and a chance to meet and talk with the town’s firefighters and emergency medical technicians. There will be cotton candy, popcorn and apple orchard goodies.

The LifeNet helicopter will land mid-event, weather permitting, and folks can see what goes into operating an air ambulance.

It all takes place at the CVFD station on Route 30.
