Planners seek fix for Lewis Creek flooding

A SECTION OF the Lewis Creek near the Starksboro-Bristol town line has been the subject of repeated flooding in the past several years, most recently following a 2019 Halloween Storm as pictured here. A scoping study is underway to evaluate flood mitigation options for the creek and look at future flood risk.

Plans are afoot to address recurring flooding along the southernmost area of the Lewis Creek, which runs along Route 116 near homes in Starksboro and a portion of Bristol.
