Police said the shooting was a targeted event directed at the victims, and there is no broader threat to the general public.
Vermont State Police responded after they received a 911 call reporting a disturbance on Route 7 at about 9:55 p.m. on June 4. Law enforcement officers discovered one man dead just north of Fern Lake Road and a second man suffering from gunshot injuries. The injured man was taken to the hospital.
Police did not identify the men, but a person in the neighborhood said the shooting took place at the Lanpher residence.
