MIDDLEBURY — Middlebury police cited Brenden S. Hoag, 32, of Bristol for driving under the influence, second offense, following a traffic stop at the intersection of Route 7 South and Three Mile Bridge Road.
Police said they measured Hoag’s blood-alcohol content at 0.159%; the legal limit for driving is 0.08%.
In other action last week, Middlebury police:
•  Interviewed a local man who alleged on April 12 he’d been threatened by a man who he’d not yet paid for labor.
•  Helped a woman who was having a mental health episode at Charter House Coalition’s warming shelter on April 12.
•  Received complaints on April 12 about reckless driving and speeding on East Munger Street.
•  Responded to a family dispute at a Jayne Court residence on April 13.
•  Helped a local woman on April 13 who had gotten locked out of her Court Street apartment where her oxygen tank was located.
•  Responded, with Middlebury Regional EMS, to the Courtyard by Marriott, where a guest was having a seizure on April 13.
•  Helped MREMS personnel lift a patient at a South Munger Street residence on April 13.
•  Collected syringes and drug paraphernalia found by staff at the Charter House Coalition’s warming shelter on April 13.
•  Responded to a report of a Courtyard by Marriott guest having a mental health episode on April 13.
•  Received a report about a woman allegedly taking photos in a “restricted area” outside the U.S. Post Office building on Main Street on April 13.
•  Heard from a local resident on April 14 concerned that bushes had been cut along his property line without his permission.
•  Responded to a domestic disturbance at a North Pleasant Street residence on April 14.
•  Received a report about a man allegedly being accosted by an elderly Buttolph Drive resident on April 14.
•  Investigated a report of a vehicle leaving the scene of an accident on Court Street Extension on April 14.
•  Investigated a report of a suicidal East Middlebury resident on April 14. Police said the man in question allowed a family member to take possession of his firearms, and he was put in touch with the Counseling Service of Addison County.
•  Cited Benjamin Taylor, 40, of Middlebury for retail theft following a report of an incident at Hannaford’s Supermarket on April 15.
•  Cited a juvenile for driving under the influence of drugs following a traffic stop and screening on Route 7 South on April 15.
•  Served a temporary restraining order on April 16 on a person in the Court Street area.
•  Received, from Middlebury College Public Safety, drugs and related paraphernalia for disposal on April 16.
•  Investigated a car crash, with minor injuries, at the intersection of Route 7 South and Halladay Road on April 16.
•  Checked the welfare of a local woman in the Jackson Lane area on April 17 who was believed to be considering self-harm.
•  Assisted a local man who alleged on April 17 he’d been threatened by another man.
•  Receive a report on April 17 that a man had allegedly taken his ex-girlfriend’s car without her permission. Police said the man returned the vehicle.
•  Received a complaint on April 18 about an ATV operating on Case Street.
•  Helped an East Middlebury parent find a missing child on April 18. With the help of Vermont State Police and a K-9, police searched for the child in the East Main Street neighborhood. Police said the child ultimately emerged from a hiding spot inside the home.
•  Investigated a one-vehicle accident on Foote Street on April 18 in which the driver left the scene.
