MIDDLEBURY — Middlebury police cited Johanna Schneider, 28, of Middlebury for driving under the influence, following a traffic stop on Jan. 1.
Police said they measured Schneider’s blood-alcohol content at 0.181%; the legal limit for driving is 0.08.
In other action last week, Middlebury police:
•  Were asked by Vermont State Police to be on the lookout for a vehicle coming out of Salisbury on Route 7 on Dec. 28.
•  Served a temporary restraining order on a local person on Dec. 30.
•  Took into custody 21-year-old Edward Lamson — whose last address was in Winooski — at the request of St. Albans police on Dec. 30. Police said Lamson was sought for burglary and for allegedly driving a stolen car from St. Albans. See related news report for more details about this incident.
•  On Dec. 30 took into custody Michael H. Winter, 59, of Ripton on a warrant for allegedly having failed to appear in court to answer a traffic stop violation on Route 125 in East Middlebury.
•  Took a suicidal woman to Porter Hospital to receive counseling on Jan. 1.
•  Responded to a report about a woman allegedly making suicidal comments in the Middle Road area on Jan. 1. Police said they united the woman with Counseling Service of Addison County officials.
•  Responded to a report of a disorderly man in the Porter Hospital parking lot on Jan. 1.
•  Assisted Courtyard by Marriott staff in removing a guest who had allegedly been using drugs on Jan. 1.
•  Gave an intoxicated person a courtesy ride to a family member’s home on Jan. 1.
•  On Jan. 1 referred to the Vermont Department for Children & Families a case involving a local child who police believed wasn’t being cared for properly.
•  Received a complaint on Jan. 2 from a person who believed someone might have slipped an unspecified drug into a drink at a local New Year’s Eve party.
•  Helped get an abandoned animal to Homeward Bound, the Addison County Humane Society, on Jan. 2.
•  Assisted a driver in pushing a vehicle out of a snowbank off Court Square on Jan. 3.
•  Responded to a report of a domestic dispute in the Court Square area on Jan. 3. Police said one of the involved parties obtained a relief-from-abuse order against the other party.
•  Assisted a local woman on Jan. 3 who feared she was being stalked by someone. Police said the woman had received calls from a person commenting on the walks she had taken.
•  Assisted on Jan. 3 a person who reported feeling suicidal. The person later declined counseling.
•  Responded to a noise complaint in the South Pleasant Street area on Jan. 3.
•  Helped resolve a family dispute involving a juvenile in the Rogers Road area on Jan. 3.
•  Served a no-trespass order on Jan. 3 on a person not wanted at a Court Street address.
•  Investigated a truancy complaint at Mary Hogan Elementary School on Jan. 4.
