Middlebury Police Log: Middlebury man cited for domestic assault

MIDDLEBURY — Middlebury Police cited Peter Thibodeau, 39, of Middlebury, for domestic assault, following an investigation in the Court Street Extension area on Nov. 29. Police said Thibodeau will answer to the charge on Nov. 29 in Addison Superior Court, Criminal Division.
In other action last week, Middlebury Police:
• Responded to a family dispute at a Buttolph Drive residence on Nov. 23. Police said a woman involved in the incident was linked with detox services.
• Assisted a local resident on Nov. 24 who had mailed a check that had allegedly been cashed by an unauthorized person.
• Were informed of the alleged theft of prescription drugs from a conference room at the Courtyard by Marriott Hotel on Court Street Extension on Nov. 25.
• Received a report of trash being illegally dumped off Abbey Pond Road on Nov. 25.
• Responded to the untimely death of 86-year-old Faye Charron at the Eastview retirement community on Nov. 25. Police said Charron died of natural causes.
• Served a temporary restraining order on a local man on Nov. 25.
• Reunited a lost dog with its owner in the East Main Street area on Nov. 26.
• Assisted Charter House officials in removing a guest on Nov. 26.
• Helped a man who was having a mental health episode in the Court Street area on Nov. 26.
• Responded, with Middlebury firefighters, to a reported accidental structure fire in the Kings Row area on Nov. 26.
• Took a suicidal woman into protective custody on Nov. 26. Police took the woman to Porter Hospital for evaluation.
• Assisted a local person with a family member who was having a mental health crisis on Nov. 27.
• Gave one homeless person a ride to the Charter House warming shelter, and another homeless person a ride to a hotel, on Nov. 27.
• Helped remove a disruptive guest from the Charter House warming shelter on North Pleasant Street on Nov. 28.
• Were informed of the possible theft of wine from the Maplefields store on North Pleasant Street on Nov. 28.
• Issued a citation to a Courtyard by Marriott guest, on behalf of Barre Police, on Nov. 28.
• Were informed someone had stolen a crossbow from a vehicle parked in The Centre parking lot of Court Street Extension on Nov. 28.
• Received a report of a possibly intoxicated person wandering in and out of traffic on Court Street, near the Dollar Store, on Nov. 28. Police said they were unable to locate the person.
• Investigated a report of a man “screaming and hallucinating” outside a Case Street home on Nov. 29. Responding officers said the man appeared to be under the influence of “some type of narcotic.” Middlebury Regional EMS officials took the man to Porter Hospital for treatment, according to police.
• Responded, with Middlebury firefighters, to a fire alarm at the Eastview retirement community off Court Street on Nov. 29.
• Responded to a verbal dispute between a man and a woman at a Jayne Court residence on Nov. 29.
