Local field hockey players named Vt. all-stars

ADDISON COUNTY / BRANDON — Fifteen athletes from the Mount Abraham, Middlebury and Otter Valley union high school field hockey teams received postseason accolades from either the Metro Division or the Southern Valley League B Division.
Two members of the Division II champion Mount Abe squad earned First Team Metro honors, midfielders Madison Gile and Elizabeth Porter.
Joining them on the First Team was MUHS goalie Cassie Bettis.
Two Otter Valley players made the SVL B Division First Team, Alice Keith and Jadynn Pope.
Names to the Metro Division second team were Eagle forwards Ava Konczal and Molly Laurent and two Tigers, midfielder Kaitlyn McNamara and defender Kenene Otis.
Otter Marissa Connors earned a spot on the SVL B Division Second Team.
Receiving Metro Honorable Mention were three Eagles, goalie Maddie Donaldson, midfielder Abigail Reen and defender Payton Vincent; and two Tigers, midfielder Lois Alberts and forward Viviana Hammond.
