Tiger girls win Nordic skiing title; MUHS boys’ team is 3rd

The MUHS girls’ Nordic ski team on Friday completed its dominant performance in the two-day Division II championship meet by trouncing all comers in freestyle races in Craftsbury.

Three local wrestles earned state titles this weekend as Otter Valley claimed fourth as a team (OV’s Cole Mason the Coach of the Year), followed by MUHS, VUHS and Mount Abe.

The spring’s first no-hitter helped Otter Valley defeat rival Fair Haven twice to highlight recent local high school baseball action, while Vergennes came up short in two outings.

In recent high school softball action, Vergennes coasted in five innings, Otter Valley won twice and Middlebury split two games with Division I competition.
