MIDDLEBURY — Middlebury police cited Barry Burnham, 57, of Middlebury for two counts of simple assault and one count of disorderly conduct, after investigating a report of a man allegedly threatening a man and woman about the way they were driving their vehicle on Burnham Drive at around 5:30 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 2. 
Police said witnesses alleged Burnham had displayed a shotgun during the incident.
In other action last week, Middlebury police:
•  Served a no-trespass order on Aug. 31 on a man who wasn’t wanted at McDonald’s Restaurant.
•  Advised a group of people to not wear dark clothes while walking at night on Route 125 west on Aug. 31.
•  Cited Lonny McCray, 33 of Salisbury for violating his conditions of release, after investigating a one-vehicle accident on Blake Roy Road on Aus. 31.
•  Cited Terrance W. Derrick, 61, of Middlebury for lewd and lascivious conduct on Aug. 31, as a result of an investigation into an incident that had occurred on Jayne Court.
•  Responded to a report of “several young people” walking together without face coverings in the Maple Street area on Aug. 31.
•  Were informed of the theft of a political sign from a Court Street resident’s yard on Aug. 31.
•  Checked on the welfare of a local woman who had allegedly received some “concerning” text messages on Aug. 31. Police said the woman was OK.
•  Cited Robert Manemb, 30, of Middlebury for unlawful mischief, petit larceny and resisting arrest following an incident on South Pleasant Street on Sept. 1.
•  Responded to a report of the untimely death of Traci Clark, 54, at a Court Street residence on Sept. 1. Police said they found no signs of foul play and determined, based upon Clark’s medical history, that her death was by natural causes.
•  Assisted a local woman who said she had been threatened through social media on Sept. 1.
•  Cited Elijah Morrow, 23, of Morrisville for driving under the influence of drugs, following a stop for speeding on Seminary Street Extension on Sept. 2.
•  Assisted Porter Hospital staff in removing a man who had refused to leave the campus on Sept. 2.
•  Served a temporary restraining order on a man while he was at the Porter Hospital campus on Sept. 2.
•  Assisted a Jayne Court resident who had received a phone threat on Sept. 3.
•  Received a report that someone had allegedly stolen prescription drugs from a Court Street Extension home on Sept. 3.
•  Cited Timothy Farr, 67, of Middlebury for unlawful trespass, after he allegedly tried to enter a Court Street apartment on Sept. 3. Police said Farr was released into the custody of another person, because he was intoxicated.
•  Received a report that someone had stripped a bicycle of all its parts while it was being displayed at Frog Hollow Bikes during the evening of Sept. 2-3.
•  Assisted a Washington Street Extension resident who had been the victim of a phone scam on Sept. 3.
•  Received a complaint of an alleged sexual assault in the North Pleasant Street area on Sept. 3. Police said they, and the Addison County Unit for Special Investigations, are investigating the complaint.
•  Assisted Vermont State Police at the scene at a burglary at a Lake Dunmore Road home in Salisbury on Sept. 3.
•  Assisted a Lower Plains Road resident who had allegedly received a threatening phone call on Sept. 4.
•  Assisted a South Pleasant Street resident who had an unwelcome visitor on Sept. 4.
•  Received a report that someone had taken the front wheels off a Lindale Circle resident’s lawn mower on Sept. 4.
•  Responded to a disorderly conduct complaint at Shafer’s Market on College Street on Sept. 4. Police determined a customer had become “aggravated” and had tossed a soda bottle at a store employee. Police served the man with a no-trespass order.
•  Helped a John Graham Court resident get rid of two men who weren’t wanted at her apartment on Sept. 4.
•  Were informed of the theft of a lawn sign from an East Main Street residence on Sept. 4.
•  Investigated a report of someone screaming at the town green on Sept. 4. Police couldn’t find the source of the alleged screams.
•  Assisted Vermont State Police on Sept. 5 at a home on Smead Road in Salisbury, where a man had “ingested an unknown substance” and was “barely conscious.” Police said the man had become aggressive upon their arrival. Middlebury Regional Emergency Services (MREMS) took the man to Porter Hospital.
•  Investigated a trespassing complaint at McDonald’s Restaurant on Court Street Extension on Sept. 5.
•  Cited Aaron Giard, 19, of Middlebury for domestic assault following an incident at a North Pleasant Street home on Sept. 5. Police said Giard was lodged that evening for lack of bail.
•  Assisted MREMS at the Charter House warming shelter, where a man needed a mental health evaluation on Sept. 6. Police said MREMS took the man to Porter Hospital.
•  Responded to a report of a bleeding man stumbling near the Sand Hill Bridge in East Middlebury during the afternoon of Sept. 6. Police the man was drunk and that he had jumped off the bridge and into the Middlebury River. Police said MREMS officials took the man to Porter Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
•  Investigated a complaint of people riding ATVs in a field off Three Mile Bridge Road on Sept. 7.
