VERGENNES — Vergennes police are investigating the theft of a record album collection from the Big Barn Home Center on Friday, July 31. 
Police said the owner estimated the value of the vinyl collection at the New Haven Road business at $2,000. 
In other action between July 27 and Aug. 2, Vergennes police department also conducted 25 motorized patrols, two property watches,  three foot patrols, and: 
On July 27: 
•  While working for the town of Addison cited Andrew Kayhart, 23, of Addison for excessive speed; police allege Kayhart’s vehicle was traveling 94 mph in a 50 mph zone on Route 17. 
•  Unsuccessfully searched for a man who allegedly tried to force his way into the city pool.
•  Disposed of a syringe that was found at a downtown business.
On July 29: 
•  Cited a commercial truck driver on Main Street for speeding and a paperwork violation. 
•  Responded to an erratic driving report on Panton Road, but could not locate the vehicle.
•  Dealt with a noise complaint on Second Street; police learned a neighbor was working on wood to make guitars, but only during the daytime. Police advised the caller to talk to the neighbor and see if a compromise could be reached.
On July 31:
•  Assisted Vermont State Police by responding to a theft complaint from the North Ferrisburgh Mobil station/convenience store; police were unable to locate the person believed to be responsible.
•  Put a resident of the Valley Vista facility on Alden Place in touch with WomenSafe to help obtain a no-stalking order after she said she believed her ex-boyfriend was stalking her.
•  Helped state police with a traffic stop on Route 7 in New Haven; city police helped take statements after an incident involving an erratic driver.
•  Directed traffic while state police spoke with the occupants of a vehicle they stopped on Main Street who were involved in a domestic assault investigation.
•  On Aug. 1 cited Kory M. Cousino, 26, of Vergennes for reckless endangerment for allegedly shooting a gun inside a Victory Street residence; according to an interested party, a friend of Cousino’s prevented Cousino from committing suicide, but not from firing the weapon. 
•  On Aug. 2 dealt with a trespassing complaint at a Walker Avenue apartment, but learned there was not a no-trespass order in effect.
