Golfer Lucas Politano claims first place
MIDDLEBURY — Ralph Myhre Golf Course’s Lucas Politano was back to his winning ways in the Junior New England PGA event on July 15 at the Vermont National Country Club. Politano claimed first place in the Boys 12-13 division at the South Burlington course. Thomas Politano tied for seventh place in Boys 14-15, and Mia Politano earned 3rd place in Girls 14-18.
Local golfers made some impressive showings at the Vermont State Women’s Golf Association Senior Championship at Ralph Myhre in Middlebury on July 14. Local finishers were: Flight 1, Erika Politano, 6th Place Gross; Flight 2, Nicole Laberge, 1st Place Gross; Flight 2 – 2nd Place Gross, Sue Dula; Flight 2 – 7th Place Gross Tie, Eileen Sims; Flight 3 – 1st Place Gross, Marilyn O’Keefe; Flight 3 – 7th Place Gross, Giselle Lafleche; Flight 1 – 4th Place Net, Katherine Ritter; Flight 2 – 2nd Place Net Tie, Eva Mastalos.
The July Wednesday Scramble at Ralph Myhre saw the foursome of Jesse Wing, Wade Provencher, Ben Andrews and Dave Andrews claim first place on July 15.
The next day, Chalmers Nunn, James Rubright, Matthew Biette and Dayton Wakefield won Bill Davidson Thursday Men’s Golf. In second was the foursome of Scott Bennett, Joe Bartlett, Rodney Ebbinghausen and John Myhre; in third was the quartet of Hogan Beazley, Steve Maier, Deem Schoenfeld and Fred Belanger. Nunn also scooped up the low net.
The winning foursome in the July 17 Friday Evening Mixer consisted of John Dula, Sue Dula, Jill Jesso-White and Dale White.
This weekend, July 24-26, will see Ralph Myhre host the Dud Phinney Member Guest tournament.
