GOALIE RYAN TURNBULL of the Gumbies denied a sure goal by the Tigers with a spectacular diving block on Tuesday in the first-round Division II playoff game. Turnbull made 10 saves, but the 12-3 Tigers prevailed 3-0.

ADDISON COUNTY — The Middlebury and Mount Abraham boys’ soccer teams both won first-round Division II playoff games on Tuesday to set up a second-round head-to-head matchup, Vergennes cruised in its Wednesday D-III opener, while Otter Valley’s D-III upset bid on Tuesday came up just short.
TIGERS
