Merchants Row in Middlebury closed Monday
MIDDLEBURY — Middlebury’s Merchants Row Bridge is closed to drivers and pedestrians between 7 a.m. and 7 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 12.
The closure is to allow Maine Drilling & Blasting to install four mini-piles across the bridge entrance as part of the effort to stabilize the rail abutment in preparation for next summer’s excavation.
There will be no impact on street parking in front of the Battell Block or on access to the lower Battell parking lot. Pedestrians walking between the Battell Block and Town Hall Theater during the closure period are asked to use the Town Green.
For any questions or comments, contact Jim Gish, community liaison for the downtown Middlebury rail bridges project, at [email protected].
